COINBASE TO INTEGRATE LIGHTNING NETWORK?

We know it will happen eventually…

Coinbase CEO, Brian Armstrong has hinted at integrating bitcoin lightning network in a recent tweet.

The exchange is the largest in the US, let’s take a look at the numbers:

  • 110M+ verified users

  • $145B in quarterly volume

  • $80B assets under management

  • 100+ countries

  • 4,500+ employees

Integrating and exposing these users to the lightning network would be extremely beneficial for Bitcoin.

Unfortunately, Brian clearly still has a lot to learn about the Lightning network as he failed to send $100 to @JoeNakamoto.

This failure inevitably prompted Bitcoiners to poke fun at the CEO.

After all his companies name, Coinbase, is a bitcoin term used to describe the content of the “input” of a generation transaction.

But don’t worry Brian we’ll forgive you if finally integrate the Lightning Network.

BITCOIN’S NUCLEAR SUCCESS

America’s first nuclear bitcoin mine has blown away expectations…

It’s called Nautilus (owned by Terawulf) and began operations in February this year.

They just clocked in their first monthly report for march, which shows 63% month-on-month growth.

The mining center utilized an average of 91% zero-carbon energy to power their 9,200 miners.

The new site has contributed 65% increase in Hashrate capacity in Q1 for the company compared with last quarter.

Terawulf aim with Nautilus was to build a green data center operating exclusively on nuclear power. Which they achieved.

This project is a significant step towards more sustainable bitcoin mining practices and a milestone in the adoption of nuclear energy in the tech industry.

Nautilus is a great example of a bitcoin mining operation mitigating environmental impact.

ARKANSAS BITCOIN MINING BILL PASSES

Arkansas State just passed a bill protecting the right to mine bitcoin.

The bill seeks to regulate and tax the bitcoin mining industry within the state.

The document treats miners like data centers and recognizes “that data centers create jobs, pay taxes, and provide general economic value to local communities.“

Miners will be required to pay taxes and fees in US dollars and cause no stress to the local electricity grid.
