MicroBT Releases New Line of Whatsminer M50 Series

MicroBT, the manufacturer of WhatsMiner ASIC mining machines, unveiled new models at Bitcoin 2023 in Miami Beach. Dr. Zuoxing Yang, the CEO, emphasized their high density, low noise, low failure rate, and low maintenance features, which usher in a new era of bitcoin mining. The presentation addressed the energy crisis, green energy, and the role of bitcoin as a solution. MicroBT introduced three new models with computing power ranging from 150 to 320 terahash/second and power efficiencies of 22 joules per terahash. Dr. Yang highlighted the heat collection capabilities and mentioned the hydro-cooling rigs' outlet water temperatures of over 70℃, enabling 2.4MW of power for a 40-foot container. MicroBT's focus is on high-efficiency mining rigs while supporting decentralization, network stability, and promoting sustainable and socially responsible mining practices.

FATF Push Pakistan To Ban Bitcoin

Pakistan will ban cryptocurrency services and not legalize crypto trading, following the Financial Action Task Force's (FATF) requirements to combat money laundering and terrorism financing. Despite being removed from FATF's gray list, the ban arrives as cryptocurrencies gain popularity in Pakistan, with a $25 billion annual trading volume. Banks have begun informing customers of the illegality. FATF's President, T. Raja Kumar, called on G-7 leaders to implement effective anti-money laundering norms for cryptocurrencies due to poor compliance worldwide.
